Uma Pittman struck out seven and went 2-for-3 at the plate as the Johns Creek Lady Gladiators beat the Peachtree Ridge Lions 3-2 on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Johns Creek High School, according to Johns Creek athletics.

The win pushed Johns Creek to 2-0 in the first week of the season, two days after Pittman threw a complete game and delivered a walk-off single to beat Centennial by the same score on Monday, Aug. 3.

Against Peachtree Ridge, Pittman was again dominant in the circle. She went the distance, scattering just two hits and two walks while allowing two earned runs. Seven Lions went down on strikes. At the plate, she collected two hits in three at-bats and drove in a run, making her the team's most dangerous two-way player through the opening stretch.

Freshman Kennedy Brewer made an immediate impact in her Lady Gladiators debut. Brewer went 2-for-3 with an RBI, recording her first career hits in a game that came down to the final innings. Her line matched Pittman's at the plate, giving Johns Creek two multi-hit performers in the lineup on the same night.

Audrey Lafon added a hit, and Isla Wells delivered in a pressure spot, drawing a bases-loaded walk to force home a run. Wells' plate discipline gave the Lady Gladiators an insurance run without needing to put the bat on the ball.

Through two games, Johns Creek's formula is clear: Pittman handles the pitching workload while the lineup scrapes together just enough offense. Both wins have come by a single run, and Pittman has thrown back-to-back complete games. The Lady Gladiators have allowed just four runs total across 14 innings.

Johns Creek travels to Calhoun on Saturday, Aug. 8, for a three-game set as the Lady Gladiators look to extend the early winning streak.
