Three Johns Creek scouts built benches, picnic tables and a paved platform for a historic wagon as part of the service projects that earned them scouting's highest rank.

Harrison Theodore, Lincoln Roberts and Sanya Garg completed their Eagle Scout board of review Thursday, July 30, at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, according to the Alpharetta-Roswell Herald. The three were among 13 new Eagle Scouts from across the Northern Ridge Scout District, which covers Johns Creek, Roswell, Alpharetta and Milton.

Only about 4% of Scouts have earned Eagle rank since the program began in 1911. It requires at least 21 merit badges and a community service project the Scout plans, organizes and leads.

Harrison Theodore — Troop 27

Theodore, a member of Troop 27 at Johns Creek Christian Church, built four wooden benches, a pathway and an arch for the church's prayer labyrinth. Troop 27 meets Monday evenings at the church.

Lincoln Roberts — Troop 143

Roberts, a member of Troop 143 sponsored by Greenleaf Capital Partners, removed four damaged picnic tables and built two new ones for Johns Creek Methodist Church.

Sanya Garg — Troop 2000

Garg, a member of Troop 2000 at Johns Creek Presbyterian Church, took on a multi-part project at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center. The work included constructing a 10-by-11-foot paved platform under an existing hut to shelter the preserve's historic wagon, mulching a surrounding area and cleaning and resetting a stone wall.

The wagon is part of Autrey Mill's Heritage Village collection of late-1800s farmstead buildings and artifacts gathered from across north Fulton, Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

Visit the projects

Residents can see Garg's handiwork at Autrey Mill, located at 9770 Autrey Mill Road. The 46-acre preserve is free to visit, with trails open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the Visitor Center and Farm Museum open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

Theodore's prayer labyrinth additions are at Johns Creek Christian Church, and Roberts' picnic tables are at Johns Creek Methodist Church.
