A sports bar with 43 years of Atlanta history is filling one of the biggest empty restaurant spaces on Jones Bridge Road.

Three Dollar Café is converting the former Wild Wing Cafe at Abbotts Village, 11585 Jones Bridge Road, into a full-service sports bar, North Atlanta Star reported Sunday, Aug. 2. Construction crews are already inside the roughly 8,000-square-foot space, and the company has begun hiring servers and bartenders.

No opening date has been announced. North Atlanta Star reported the timing could align with the start of football season, when demand for big-screen sports bars peaks.

A Sandy Springs original since 1983

Won Woo and Kelly Woo co-founded the first Three Dollar Café at 8595 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs in 1983 after Won Woo immigrated from South Korea in 1979. The brand now operates about 10 locations across metro Atlanta, including Alpharetta, Peachtree Corners, Buford, Chamblee, Kennesaw, and Marietta. Most are franchised with local operators, according to CEO Joseph Woo, Won Woo's son, who has led the company since 2012.

The Johns Creek location marks a return for the brand, which previously ran a smaller Three Dollar Café Jr. elsewhere in the city. The Abbotts Village spot will be a larger, traditional full-service concept.

"We love that Three Dollar is a part of multi-generational memories … that is the real magic of the place, and we will continue to be the neighborhood, local sports bar," co-founder Kelly Woo told Appen Media in October 2025, when discussing the brand's Chastain location relocation in Sandy Springs.

What's on the menu

Three Dollar Café's menu centers on chicken wings the brand bills as fresh, never frozen, and available in 13 flavors, alongside burgers and sandwiches. The atmosphere leans on multiple televisions and a neighborhood-bar feel.

Filling a gap at Abbotts Village

Wild Wing Cafe opened at the Abbotts Village address in March 2018 under owners Bill and Kris Peterson. The space featured 43 TVs, three giant projectors, and a 30-seat bar. Wild Wing's parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2023, closing 15 locations after pandemic losses and an inability to restructure a $12.5 million loan. The Johns Creek location has been listed as permanently closed on Yelp since at least July 2026.

Three Dollar Café's arrival adds to a wave of restaurant activity in Johns Creek. As we reported July 31, Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que is also preparing to open on State Bridge Road this fall.

The local franchise operator for the Johns Creek Three Dollar Café has not been publicly identified. Residents interested in server or bartender positions can watch the company's website at threedollarcafe.com for updates.
