A fully vegetarian Indian restaurant opened Friday, Aug. 14, at 5805 State Bridge Road, Suite R, giving Johns Creek diners a dedicated meat-free option with a menu that stretches across regional Indian cuisines.

Saathvik Aahar serves South Indian, North Indian and Gujarati dishes along with Jain and vegan selections. The lineup includes dosas, curries, rotis, rice dishes, breakfast items, snacks, salads and desserts.

One menu section stands out. The restaurant offers Swaminarayan-style dishes made without onion or garlic, an important dietary observance for some Hindu diners that remains uncommon on suburban restaurant menus. Jain and vegan options are treated as core menu categories rather than occasional substitutions, a distinction that sets Saathvik Aahar apart from Indian restaurants that offer a handful of vegetarian plates alongside meat dishes.

The restaurant is operated by Chef Anil Kompalli, who leads a group that also runs Biryani World and other Indian concepts in Johns Creek and Cumming. Kompalli has more than 25 years of experience in Indian cooking and has worked in the Atlanta market for more than 15 years. Biryani World operates out of the same building at 5805 State Bridge Road, Suite 400, according to the group's website.

Saathvik Aahar scored a perfect 100 out of 100 on its pre-opening Fulton County health inspection on July 20, with no violations recorded. The inspection is on file under permit FSP-060-014801 with the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The Aug. 14 grand opening, which began at 10 a.m., followed a soft-opening period and several preview events held over the summer, North Atlanta Star reported. The restaurant group described the launch on its Facebook page as a new chapter of pure food and pure happiness.
