Piedmont Cancer Institute has opened a medical oncology office in Johns Creek, its seventh location across metro Atlanta.
The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Monday, Sept. 14, for the new office at 11315 Johns Creek Parkway, Suite 220. Mayor John Bradberry attended the ceremony, joining local leaders and healthcare professionals to mark the opening, according to the Chamber's event page.
The Chamber called the opening a milestone for healthcare access in the community and said local leaders, healthcare professionals and community partners gathered to recognize the practice's work in cancer care across the region.
Two oncologists staff the Johns Creek office: Dr. Kyle M. Kidwell and Dr. Jay Rhee. The office serves cancer patients in Johns Creek, Suwanee, Cumming, Alpharetta, Duluth, Norcross and surrounding communities in Gwinnett and Forsyth counties, according to PCI's website.
Piedmont Cancer Institute (PCI) is a physician-owned and physician-operated private practice founded in 1987. It has grown from a single office to seven across metro Atlanta, with locations in Atlanta, Fayetteville, Johns Creek, Locust Grove, Newnan, Sandy Springs and Stockbridge.
PCI announced the Johns Creek opening on its website under the headline "Seventh Location Now Open in Johns Creek." The practice describes itself as independent from hospital systems, a structure it says allows physicians and staff to build lasting relationships with patients.
Patient support services across PCI's network include social work, palliative care, an in-house pharmacy, education coordinators and access to clinical trials.
The Johns Creek office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Patient parking is free. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 678-399-7187 and selecting option 2.
