Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar will pair Persian cuisine with one of Napa Valley's most acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignons when it hosts a ticketed wine dinner with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars on Thursday, Aug. 20.

The two-hour dinner runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the restaurant's Johns Creek location, 2100 Ray Moss Connector. Tickets are $125 per person and available through Resy, according to Rough Draft Atlanta, which first reported the event on Thursday, July 30.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars earned its place in wine history in 1976, when its 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon beat top French Bordeaux in a blind tasting known as the Judgment of Paris. A bottle of that vintage now sits in the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. The Napa Valley estate, founded in 1970, is now owned by Italian wine dynasty Marchesi Antinori, which took full control in 2023.

Persian Basket is run by chef and co-owner Arezoo Armaghan and her husband, Mansoor "Max" Lofti, who also owns Divan Restaurant & Bar in Buckhead. Armaghan, who holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, launched the Persian Basket brand in 2015 as an online grocery and meal-delivery service shipping saffron, pistachios, and date molasses nationwide. The couple opened the brick-and-mortar restaurant in early 2020, just weeks before COVID-19 shutdowns hit.

"I wanted to give Persian Basket and the food a twist, a flair — something that you cannot easily create at home," Armaghan told Eater Atlanta in August 2018, describing the food philosophy behind the then-online-only brand. "Something that you eat and always remember and always crave."

The restaurant's Resy listing describes the menu as a deep dive into traditional Persian cuisine, with dishes spanning vegetable, fish, meat, and poultry.

Specific courses and wine pairings for the Aug. 20 dinner have not been announced publicly.
