Northview High School students are tackling real business problems alongside corporate executives this school year through a career-pathway program that makes the Johns Creek school one of just six in Georgia offering the curriculum.

The 3DE by Junior Achievement program uses case methodology to bring corporate partners into the classroom, where students work on actual business challenges and present solutions to company leaders. Delta Air Lines is among the national sponsors that pose problems for students to solve, according to Fox 6. The Creek Magazine's August/September education issue, published Aug. 10, also names Home Depot as a corporate sponsor at Northview.

The program is already active. Deluxe Corporation employees volunteered at their Atlanta office to judge presentations from 96 Northview students working through 3DE business case challenges. Nationally, Junior Achievement says the program operates in more than 50 schools and has been linked to reduced chronic absenteeism and improved math and reading scores.

The 3DE program is also drawing new students to Northview through two separate enrollment pathways the district launched for 2026-27.

Out-of-district families pay $11,000 a year

The Fulton County Board of Education approved "Find Your Future at Fulton" at its June 18 meeting, setting tuition at $11,000 per student annually for out-of-district Georgia families. Northview is one of four pilot sites, alongside Fulton Academy of Virtual Excellence, Global Impact Academy and North Springs High School. The district says resident students remain the priority, with outside enrollment limited to available capacity.

The district's Find Your Future page went live July 31, just three days before the Aug. 3 first day of school.

In-district transfers use a separate, free process

Fulton County families who want their child at Northview but live outside the attendance zone use COSA (Change of School Assignment), a free annual transfer governed by Board Policy JBCC. No academic or hardship reason is required, but the school must have open seats. If applications exceed capacity, a lottery decides.

A COSA transfer alone does not get a student into the 3DE magnet. Students must separately apply to the magnet program through Northview after their transfer is approved.

What Johns Creek families need to know

Families zoned for Northview are automatically eligible to apply for 3DE but still must go through the school's magnet admissions process. Being zoned does not mean automatic placement.

The seat competition matters. The COSA application window for 2026-27 closed Jan. 9, and students with approved transfers started at their new schools Aug. 3. Last year's window opened Dec. 1; the district has not yet posted 2027-28 dates.
