"Back to school season means school safety conversations rise to the fore," Au wrote. "This weekend Johns Creek Police Chief Mitchell and I discussed school safety, in particular as it relates to gun violence prevention."

Johns Creek holds the No. 1 spot on U.S. News & World Report's 2026-2027 list of safest places to live in the United States, a ranking based on FBI crime data across 859 cities. Mayor John Bradberry, in a June 13 statement celebrating that ranking, said the city remains committed to ensuring Johns Creek stays a safe and welcoming place for residents and families.
