Johns Creek business owners can sign up for a free webinar on navigating tariffs and supply chain disruption, hosted by the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The 90-minute online session, titled "Navigating the Impact of Tariffs and Disruption," runs from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is open through the Georgia Small Business Development Center's training page. After signing up, attendees receive a separate email with a unique access link to join.

For retailers and service businesses along State Bridge Road, McGinnis Ferry Road and the Technology Park corridor, the session tackles a pressing question: how to manage costs when tariffs shift.

The webinar covers the current state of global supply chains, with a focus on tariffs and trade. It includes strategies for risk and spend mitigation, with special attention to Foreign-Trade Zones, which can reduce duties on imported goods. The format is interactive, so participants can ask questions throughout.

Tom Cook, managing director of Blue Tiger International, a consulting firm focused on supply chain management and trade compliance, leads the session. Cook has more than 35 years of experience helping companies manage import and export operations. He has written 21 books on global trade, the most recent titled "Managing and Mitigating the Impact of Tariffs, Pandemics, and Trade Disruptions in the Global Supply Chain." He has taught at Baruch College, the Fashion Institute of Technology and Stony Brook University, and has served as a long-term instructor for the American Management Association in New York City.

The Georgia SBDC, a University of Georgia outreach program funded through the U.S. Small Business Administration, co-hosts the session with the Chamber.

The Chamber's event page has full details. Businesses with questions can contact Richard Brooks at the Chamber at (770) 495-0545 or [email protected].
