A college-style training facility on Peachtree Parkway near the Johns Creek–Forsyth County line is drawing attention from area sports families with less than two weeks until the 2026 GHSA football season opener.

D1 Training South Forsyth, at 2569 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 270, in Cumming, opened in 2025 under local owners Adam and Mindy Pure. The couple, parents of four children involved in sports, brought the national D1 franchise to the Georgia Route 141 corridor where many Gladiators, Cougars, and Titans families already commute and run errands.

The facility features indoor turf and strength stations. Coach-led sessions run 54 minutes and follow a structured sequence modeled on Division I college strength-and-conditioning programs, according to North Atlanta Star, which profiled the gym July 28.

Age-segmented youth programs

D1 South Forsyth splits its youth training into three tiers:

  • Rookie (ages 7–11): Movement fundamentals, coordination, and teamwork
  • Devo (ages 12–14): Speed, strength, and conditioning
  • Prep (ages 15–18): Programming that resembles serious athletic-performance training

The tiered approach means a middle-schooler learning agility basics and a varsity lineman chasing a college offer train under the same roof without sharing the same session.

Coaches work on transferable physical skills across football, basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, and other sports. Among them is Jerome Tramel, a former University of Georgia defensive back who played in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens, according to the facility's Facebook page.

Football season approaching

The 2026 GHSA football season kicks off Wednesday, August 12, giving Gladiators, Cougars, and Titans players a narrow window of off-season preparation. D1's location near McGinnis Ferry Road and the Johns Creek border puts it within the daily orbit of families from all three school zones.

D1 Training was founded in Nashville in 2001 by Will Bartholomew, a former University of Tennessee football player. The brand now operates more than 150 locations nationwide, including D1 Milton on Highway 9 in Alpharetta.

Beyond youth athletics, D1 South Forsyth offers personal training, small-group coaching, team sessions, and adult workouts. Pricing is not listed publicly; prospective members contact the facility or schedule an introductory assessment.
