Georgia's premier season-opening high school football tournament is back, and several teams from communities neighboring Johns Creek are on the schedule.
The 35th annual Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic will feature 13 games across four venues from Wednesday, August 12 through Friday, August 21, according to the full schedule released by Atlanta News First on Monday, July 27. The slate includes matchups at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kell High School, Blessed Trinity High School and Georgia State's Center Parc Stadium.
Cambridge takes on Brookwood at 5 p.m. Thursday, August 13 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Roswell faces Walton in the nightcap that evening at 8 p.m. Blessed Trinity hosts Decatur at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 20, with Centennial meeting Dunwoody at 4:30 p.m. in the opener at that site.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium opens the tournament
The Classic kicks off Wednesday, August 12 with two games under the retractable roof downtown. Lanier and South Gwinnett square off at 5 p.m., followed by North Gwinnett versus Grayson at 8 p.m. The stadium hosts two more games the following evening.
Week two shifts to high school campuses
Action moves to Kell High School on Wednesday, August 19, where Pebblebrook faces Clarke Central at 4:30 p.m. and the host Longhorns take on McEachern at 7:30 p.m. Blessed Trinity's campus picks up Thursday, August 20 with the Centennial-Dunwoody and Decatur-Blessed Trinity doubleheader.
The tournament wraps Friday, August 21 at Center Parc Stadium with a three-game slate: Hebron Christian versus Carver-Atlanta at 2 p.m., Parkview against Coffee at 5 p.m., and Houston County facing West Forsyth at 8 p.m.

The Corky Kell Classic has opened Georgia's high school football season every year since 1992.
