A $10,000 gift will put thousands of daffodil bulbs in the ground at Cauley Creek Park this fall.

The Atlanta Retailers Association and its subsidiary, the Platinum Business Alliance, presented the check to Johns Creek Beautification during the opening ceremony of the organizations' inaugural cricket tournament on Saturday, July 25, the Johns Creek Herald reported. The tournament, held at Cauley Creek Park, featured men's and women's cricket teams and drew local officials including state Rep. Dr. Michelle Au, who represents House District 50.

The money will fund Johns Creek Beautification's Daffodils4Hope Dig Day, set for Saturday, October 10, at Cauley Creek Park starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers will plant thousands of daffodil bulbs along the park's landscape, creating a spring display that blooms each year along the 5K trail.

The event is free.

"Everyone's planting daffodils at the same time, and at the end, we have a big celebration at Cauley Creek Park. You can see on their faces how happy they are. It's so much fun," Johns Creek Beautification President Liliana Brenner said in a February 2026 Johns Creek Magazine feature about the annual event.

The Daffodils4Hope campaign raises awareness and symbolizes hope, beauty and support for cancer survivors, according to Johns Creek Beautification. In 2025, nearly 200 volunteers turned out for Dig Day. Past volunteer groups have included the Ismaili Civic Group, Young Men's Service League, North Fulton Master Gardeners, high school students and families.

An Atlanta Retailers Association representative called the Dig Day "a wonderful example of how businesses, volunteers and community organizations can work together to create a lasting impact," according to the Johns Creek Herald.

The Atlanta Retailers Association, which represents more than 1,600 independently owned convenience stores across Georgia, launched the Platinum Business Alliance in 2021. Johns Creek Beautification, a volunteer-led nonprofit founded in 2007 alongside the city's incorporation, enhances parks and green spaces through landscaping and public art.
