Democrat Moraima “Mo” Ivory is running against Republican Eric J. Tatum for Fulton County Commission chair in the Nov. 3, 2026, election.

Ivory is a former District 4 commissioner. She resigned that seat in March to run for chair, according to Rough Draft Atlanta. Her former district position should not be described as her current office.

Georgia State University identifies Ivory as an attorney and professor of practice. Its biography lists degrees from Spelman College and Temple University and experience in entertainment law and media.

County-service priorities

Her campaign priorities emphasize jail conditions, court funding, expanded healthcare capacity, elections and budget transparency. These are goals for county government, not completed projects or guaranteed new services.

Authority and implementation

The chair is elected countywide and serves with six district commissioners. Major budget, tax and policy decisions require collective board action. The chair cannot independently fund a new hospital, direct court rulings or decide individual prosecutions.

Ivory’s priorities could affect county services used by north Fulton residents and spending across the county. The campaign materials reviewed do not establish a complete financing package, detailed construction schedule or quantified household tax effect for those goals.

The Johns Creek Bulletin did not receive a direct questionnaire response from the candidate and does not endorse candidates.
