Tony Kozycki, a Democrat, is challenging Republican Rep. Rich McCormick for Georgia’s 7th Congressional District seat in the Nov. 3, 2026, election.
Background
Kozycki’s campaign biography describes him as a former Navy aviator and an attorney. It lists a 2008 Naval Academy degree and a 2021 law degree from Georgia State University. It describes Harvard Kennedy School credential study as ongoing, rather than a completed master’s degree.
Household costs and health care
His platform supports an expanded Child Tax Credit, deductions for working families’ childcare costs and a larger employer childcare credit. He also supports restoring enhanced Affordable Care Act premium subsidies, protecting Medicaid and expanding drug-price negotiation.
Immigration and ethics
Kozycki proposes modernizing immigration processing, targeting trafficking and providing permanent protections for Dreamers. He supports banning congressional stock trading and using blind trusts.
The platform reviewed does not provide a complete fiscal estimate or funding package for these proposals. Their effects on local households would depend on eligibility rules and legislation ultimately enacted.
Authority
A House member can introduce bills, vote on legislation and participate in oversight. A representative cannot enact these changes alone. Major tax, benefit and immigration proposals would require congressional approval and implementation by the responsible agencies.
The Johns Creek Bulletin did not receive a direct questionnaire response from the candidate and does not endorse candidates.
