Johns Creek residents have three early voting sites open through Oct. 30 for the midterm election, and the statewide turnout numbers suggest they will have plenty of company at the polls.
More than 188,667 Georgians cast in-person ballots on Tuesday, Oct. 13, the first day of early voting, according to the Georgia Secretary of State's Office. The total broke the midterm record by more than 53,000 votes.
In 2022, 134,962 voters turned out on opening day. That makes the 2026 figure a 40% increase. In the 2018 midterm, 70,849 Georgians voted on the first day of early voting, meaning the 2026 total more than doubled that mark.
Another 10,267 absentee ballots had been accepted as of the secretary of state's Oct. 14 announcement.
"This record-breaking turnout proves that voters have confidence in the integrity of our elections," Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said in a statement.

What's on the ballot
